Spring Workshops Were AmazingI just wrapped my first two virtual creativity workshops: Getting Started - for people starting/re-starting a creative practice - and Keep It Going - for people with projects in the works. Each cohort included six people who met weekly for four weeks. We had writers, dancers, musicians, photographers, videographers, audio designers, podcasters, a knife maker, and more. All with a shared love of creativity. Through exercises and discussions, everyone explored what motivates them personally. There’s no one size fits all being prescribed - this is about creating personalized techniques that last. We talked about how our whole lives intersect with our creativity. We shared work, escaped comparison traps, quieted inner critics, confronted demons, prioritized joy, and de-prioritized dread. We reminded each other that creativity is good for us, perfection is unattainable, and that doing nothing is the worst possible outcome.
