Hi, I’m Kate! I’ve spent my whole life engaging in the arts and surrounded by artists. I’m also one of those rare blends of both creative and organized—as a kid I made my own clothes AND cleaned my friends’ rooms for fun. It’s basically been that way ever since.
I’ve worked in the creative industry since 2004 and am currently Senior Talent Lead for Google’s Brand Studio. Prior to Google, I served in senior leadership positions as Global Head of Creative Operations at HubSpot and VP, Creative Operations at Pandora/SiriusXM. I have also worked with several creative industry professionals, team leaders and teams as an independent career advisor and team consultant. My approach for all is to bridge efficiency and problem-solving with a deep care for people.
Getting my professional start in nonfiction media, I produced for The Al Franken Show, a live daily radio show on Air America Radio, including two seasons for television. I also served as tour manager for over 50 live shows across the country, including Election Night, SXSW and Sundance. (This job helped immensely in achieving my favorite fun fact which is that I’ve been to all 50 states.) I’ve also produced for Al Gore’s Emmy Award-winning Current TV and XM Satellite Radio; co-ran a video production company, and distributed documentary films and series to public television, including the award-winning series, Independent Lens, for ITVS and Marigold Media Group.
An avid creative passion project enthusiast, I currently co-created/produce the music podcast Select Five with co-creator/host, Pam Torno, and Technical Producer, Brian Douglas, and co-created/produced the original iteration of How To Be Less Old on Wolfpop/Earwolf. I am also a writer for clarity, therapy, fun and business (and am in the wee stages of a book on creativity) and am a story editor for the multi-media Substack, All My Exes, with creator, Evan Roberts. I’ve playedguitar since the 90’s (and never feel I do it enough) and find the ultimate relaxation in collage and an array of crafts.
I also enjoy gazing at skylines on long city walks and short hikes, hearing/watching the ocean (and rarely going in), quiet mornings, wandering around museums and bookstores, seeing shows of all sorts, playing tennis, spending time with friends and family, and raising my smart, funny, creative, beautiful daughter.
